Top Reasons to Apply (Early!) to Scranton

 ⇒   Get a decision by December 15.
When you  apply by November 15 , you will receive your decision just one month later, on December 15! You can then relax and enjoy the holidays and the rest of your senior year, knowing where you will be heading to college.

 ⇒   Applying is free.

We use the Common Application, a standard application used by many colleges and universities.

 ⇒   Automatic scholarship review
Accepted applicants are automatically reviewed for scholarships and notified in their acceptance letter if they receive one; no separate application is required. Plus, 99% of first-year students receive financial aid. In 2024-2025, the average financial aid package was $41,000 (including federal student loans).

⇒    SAT and/or ACT scores are  optional for all majors.
We take a more holistic approach to admissions. While your GPA and coursework are important, we also consider your letters of recommendation, leadership, community service, and extracurricular activities.

Please note: Applying by November 15 for early action is non-binding. Regular decision notifications are made on a rolling basis after January 2.

If The University of Scranton is your top choice and you have a strong academic record, you may consider applying through Early Decision!
