On choosing my major

"I chose Computer Science because I always had a curiosity about how technology we use every day works under the hood. I started learning to code and make websites in high school, and I wanted to keep expanding my knowledge in the field. Along with my CS major, I am enrolled in Scranton's combined master's program in Software Engineering."

On getting involved at Scranton

"I'm a member of The University's Special Jesuit Liberal Arts SJLA program, which has been a great way for me to fulfill my general education requirements with a tight-knit group of students who share a love for Philosophy and learning. I'm also a saxophone player in Performance Music. Playing an instrument has been an important part of my life since elementary school, and I've had plenty of incredible opportunities here at Scranton to do so. I also have a work-study internship here as a web developer. It's been a great opportunity for me to hone skills related to my major and experience what it's like to be in the workforce."

On choosing Scranton

"I felt like Scranton just called out to me. I came here on a tour and felt so welcomed by everyone on campus. The two biggest things I looked for in a school were the quality of education and an ability to keep playing music, and I easily found both of those things here. Scranton just felt like the right place for me even before I was a student, and I've never regretted my decision since."

On my favorite Scranton memory

"Some of my favorite Scranton memories have been performing in our Jazz Band concerts. We have some incredible guest artists who perform with us, and I've had the pleasure of trading off improv solos with some of them!"

Scranton just felt like the right place for me even before I was a student, and I've never regretted my decision since.
