On choosing my majors
"I chose Business Administration because I saw it as a broad and versatile major that would provide a strong foundation for a variety of career paths. As I began taking classes, I found myself genuinely enjoying the material. The professors were not only knowledgeable but also invested in helping students succeed, which confirmed that I had made the right choice. Over time, I have found a strong interest in Marketing, too, especially within the sports industry. After college, my goal is to work in marketing for a sports team, where I can combine my business knowledge with my passion for sports."
On getting involved at Scranton
"I'm involved in several extracurricular activities that have significantly shaped my experience at Scranton. As a resident assistant for first-year students, I have honed my leadership skills and gained valuable experience in community building. I also serve as the secretary of the Business Club, Alumni Relations Chair for the Kania Women in Business Club, and I am a member of Omega Beta Sigma. Additionally, I co-chair the Coffeehouse Committee for the University of Scranton Programming Board (USPB), which has been a fun, creative, and collaborative outlet."
"In each of these roles, I have had the opportunity to connect with other motivated students and build professional skills. These experiences have made my time at Scranton more meaningful and have really helped me grow both personally and professionally. In addition to my extracurriculars, I work as a Royal Ambassador for the Office of Admissions and serve as an academic tutor and notetaker for the Office of Student Support and Success."
On choosing Scranton
"At first, I was reluctant to tour Scranton. My aunt graduated from the University, and I was hesitant about following in a family member’s footsteps. Looking back, I am so glad that I gave it a chance because I truly would have missed out. From the moment I stepped on campus the summer before my senior year of high school, I felt an immediate sense of belonging. The welcoming atmosphere and the sincere enthusiasm of everyone I met made it clear — this was a place I could see myself thriving."
"As a Business major, I wanted a university that not only offered strong academic support but also built meaningful connections. Scranton has delivered on both fronts. From day one, my professors have treated me as an individual, learning my name and showing a personal commitment to my success. Thanks to the small class sizes, I have never felt like I was just a number. The University’s alumni network has been another game-changer, offering opportunities to connect with accomplished professionals who are truly invested in giving back and helping students succeed."
On my favorite Scranton memories
"One of my favorite Scranton memories is Young Alumni Day, an annual event where current students have the chance to interact with recent graduates. I have attended the past two years. Each time, I have walked away feeling inspired and more confident in my future. Hearing firsthand experiences and advice from people who were once in my shoes just a few years ago has been invaluable and a great reminder of the lifelong community that The University of Scranton offers."
The welcoming atmosphere and the sincere enthusiasm of everyone I met made it clear — this was a place I could see myself thriving.
